Bird Watching

Cape Hillsborough is a bird watchers paradise – more than 150 species of birds call the area home.  Many of the species can be observed within the boundaries of the resort.
Local species include the Brahminy Kite, Laughing and Blue-Winged Kookaburras, Yellow-Breasted Sunbird, Wompoo Pigeon, Red Crowned Pigeon, Green-Winged Pigeon. The Resort and National Park are home to a thriving community of Brush Turkeys and Bush Chooks or Scrub Fowl. And of course Curlews – those responsible for the mournful cries at night.
